The AGH Comprehensive Epilepsy Program in collaboration with the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Pennsylvania has conducted an annual education program since 2001for patients and families living with epilepsy. Dr. James Valeriano, M.D. most recently presented an update on epilepsy treatment and representatives of the Epilepsy Foundation presented information on social issues that affect epilepsy patients including employment and driving regulations. Canine Assistants were featured in the 2006 Epilepsy Program during which a trainer provided a live demonstration of seizure dog training and their value to seizure patients. They also provided information on their program and how to apply for a seizure dog.
